Police warn about IRS scam
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department said it has been taking several phone calls from citizens, who said they have received phone calls from persons claiming to be from the IRS.
The caller often will ask that the citizen to call back at a different number and also threaten a lawsuit.
Police officials said this is a scam and urges residents not to give out any personal information on the telephone.
