Portions of South Highway 1 in Fairfield opening
Fairfield City Engineer and Public Works Director Melanie Carlson announced that portions of South Highway 1 have opened to the public.
“As driveways are installed, this will provide access to 1402 through 1700 South Main,” Carlson said. “With this opening, The Well and Iowa State Bank ATM will be accessible from Buchanan.”
Carlson added that, as the contractor transitions to the next phases, the south end of the project (Stages 3 and 4) will be closed.
Access to Southgate, Lincoln Court, and Casey’s will remain the same.
