Rain dampens craft fair, Trenton garage sales
May. 17, 2021 7:17 am
Sue DeRocker of Wayland had had enough.
She was cold. She was getting wet, and few people were showing up for the Trenton craft fair in conjunction with the citywide garage sales on Saturday.
“I didn’t sell any today,” DeRocker said of the homemade aprons she was selling.
Her granddaughter Klair Russell, also of Wayland, helped her pack up her goods and take down the canopy that had provided little protection from the steady rain that fell in north Henry County Saturday morning.
The vendors were set up in the city park while residents around town held their garage sales. A mini-doughnut maker parked on the edge of the park proved popular with those who did venture out.
