Randall ?Randy? Abolt, 54, of West Point, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Great River Medical Center, in Burlington.
Friends may call and meet with the family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Ossenbrinck Center, next to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, in West Point. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, in West Point, with father Dennis Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, in West Point.
A memorial has been established in his memory to the Iowa School of the Deaf. The Schmitz Funeral Home, in West Point, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.schmitzfuneralhomes.com.
Abolt was born on June 28, 1961, in Ft. Madison, the son of John and Clarice (Hellweg) Abolt. He graduated from the Iowa School of the Deaf.
He enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his family, friends and cat.
Abolt is survived by his three brothers, Marty Abolt, of Donnellson; Ron (Caryl) Abolt, of West Point; and Bernie (Ann) Abolt, of West Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Michael; and his grandparents.
