Raymond John Zaragoza Jr.

Raymond John Zaragoza Jr., 50, died Sept. 23, 2012 at his residence in Brownsville, Texas attempting to rescue his grandson from a house fire.

A funeral was held Sept. 27 at Garza Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville followed by a burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Zaragoza was born and raised in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife, Pennie M. Ezequiel Zaragoza; one son, Hanrick Ezequiel; his father, Raymond Zaragoza; three sisters, Mary Ames, Liz Breon, and Estella G. Zaragoza; and his grandmother, Maria Zaragoza.

Mr. Zaragoza was preceded in death by his mother, Esperanza Zaragoza; one sister, Lourdes Flores; and one grandson.
