Hundreds of boxes were delivered and stacked at the Nazarene Family Center this morning. All that remained to be done before the delivery of food was the organization of where the food used to fill those boxes will be placed. Jane McMahon, coordinator of the Christmas box project for the Lord?s Cupboard, places signs for each food item. As volunteers gather at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, they will pick up a box then file through the maze of boxes of nonperishables and fill their box. McMahon said there are 463 boxes to be filled this year, servicing 1,127 individuals. The total number of boxes is comparable to last year, though McMahon said there are more for large families this year, adding to the total number of individuals.
