Visitation will begin after noon until 6 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., that afternoon. Rebecca ?Becky? Johnson, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Park Place Elder Living.
Visitation will begin after noon until 6 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., that afternoon. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Olson Powell Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Jim Luder officiating. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated. Burial will be at a later date.

Johnson was born on Aug. 8, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Kenneth and Vivian D. Smith Myers, Sr. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 1972. On Nov. 27, 1998, she married Gary Keith Johnson at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Following high school, she worked in the office of H. Eugene Smith as a bookkeeper. She then went on to work at various jobs around the Mt. Pleasant area before working at Motorola/Celestica as a production worker, testing radios and working in quality control.
She enjoyed fishing and camping at Lake Geode and Lake Darling, visiting museums throughout Iowa, baking cookies, and spending time with her friends and family.
Johnson is survived by her husband, Gary; her mother, Vivian Myers, of Mt. Pleasant; two step-sons, Daniel (Sara) Johnson, of Swisher; and Mark (Kerri) Johnson, of Waterloo; two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Myers, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant; and John (Tina) Myers, of Swedesburg; and two sisters, Pam (Ron) Carruthers, of Mt. Pleasant; and Diana (Ron) Venghaus, of Mt. Union.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Myers, Sr.; and by her paternal grandmother, Velda Myers McClery.
