The Washington County Recorder?s office is offering a new option for making payments on the various services they administer. Washington County Recorder Jo Greiner said her office is now accepting MasterCard and Visa credit and debit cards. This additional payment choice can be used for birth, death and marriage certified copies, marriage applications, land transaction recordings, and conservation licenses. Other alternatives include cash, personal or business check and money order.
The option of credit cards for services has been a priority of the county recorder.
?From nearly my first day in office, I wanted to offer this convenience to our customers," Greiner said. "We have had to send so many people away because they?ve pulled out their plastic and we have had to say that we can?t accept that here.?
A service fee will be applied to all transactions. The service fee incorporates the Bank of America merchants fee, setup cost and a per-transaction fee.
