The After School STEM Club is now taking registrations for the November session titled Recycled Racers. This science club is open to all Keota students in fourth through sixth grade. Washington County Extension & 4-H and Keota Elementary are partnering together with support from Keota Elementary Boosters to offer additional and fun ways for Keota youth to interact with science more in a hands-on setting while making new friends and connecting with caring adults in the community. This club is open to students who wants to experiment more with science, technology, engineering, and math. During the November session “Recycled Racers” students will become engineers with a special eye for reusing and recycling normally discarded items into their own toy car and then compete with it in a Recycled Racecar Rally. They will learn about weight distribution, wheels, axle systems and more!
Registrations accepted on a first come, first serve basis until the session is full or the deadline October 29. Return registration forms and payment accepted at Keota Elementary School. Limited space available. There is a $15 fee made to Keota Elementary Boosters. Registration forms were sent home in backpacks but are available to print at https://tinyurl.com/4HKeotaSTEM24
