Relay for Life happening next week
Henry County?s Relay for Life event is drawing near.
The annual event will once again be held on the Iowa Wesleyan University campus, in Mt. Pleasant, beginning at 5 p.m., on Friday, June 10, with registration occurring an hour prior.

Henry County?s Relay for Life event is drawing near.
The annual event will once again be held on the Iowa Wesleyan University campus, in Mt. Pleasant, beginning at 5 p.m., on Friday, June 10, with registration occurring an hour prior.
The event will kick off with a children?s carnival, music and silent auction. A dinner for survivors and their caregivers will begin at 5:30 p.m., in the downstairs dining room. The Henry County Cattlemen?s Association will also have bar-b-que in front of IWU until 7 p.m.
At 6:15 p.m., the survivors and caregivers will assemble on the quad for the opening ceremony, including a flag presentation, guest speaker and survivors? lap.
The luminaria remembrance ceremony will begin at 9 p.m., with a movie on the lawn starting at 10 p.m. The movie will be ?Herbie Rides Again.?
Closing ceremonies will be at 11:30 p.m.
A blood drive will also be held during Relay for life, from 3 to 6 p.m.
