Residents in Washington can begin setting out their Christmas trees for pickup, while Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant residents will have the same opportunity soon.
Washington residents can put Christmas trees on the nearest street corner for pickup. Another way of disposing for them is by taking them to the southeast corner of Central Park in Washington, where there is an area set up specifically for them. The city asks that all ornaments be removed before discarding. For those who are putting trees on the street corner, do not put them near a fire hydrant. The deadline for both street pickup and Central Park dropoff is Jan. 10.
Mt. Pleasant residents will have their Christmas trees picked up the same day as their trash the week of Jan. 6-9. They are asked to put the trees next to the curb with no decorations left on.
Fairfield will pick up Christmas trees as well, though the city has not announced dates yes.
