FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Community School Board of Directors accepted the pending resignations of a few teachers and staff members during Monday night’s school board meeting.
Washington Elementary School teacher Hollie Moothart announced she will not return in the fall.
“Please know that this decision has not come lightly for me, as I have loved working alongside a great group of professionals, and I have loved working for the district,” Moothart wrote in her letter of resignation. “I ultimately have to do what is best for myself and my family right now, and this decision is what is best for my husband and I.”
In a letter addressed to Fairfield Schools Superintendent Laurie Noll, Moothart wrote that she appreciated Noll’s help in forming her into the educator she is today.
“I have loved every minute of my first grade position, and words cannot begin to explain how thankful I am to have been lifted up, supported and encouraged throughout my time here,” Moothart wrote. “Until my last day, I vow to give it my all every single day. Thank you for the opportunity to work alongside you these past two years and please know that Washington Elementary will forever hold a special place in my heart.”
Brittany Metcalf, the head high school girls’ soccer coach, announced she was stepping down from her role.
“I thank you for the opportunity and have truly enjoyed coaching for the district the last four years,” Metcalf wrote in her letter of resignation.
Connie Keller, Fairfield High School assistant vocal director and music teacher at Pence and Washington elementary schools, said she will retire at the end of this school year.
“It has been an honor and a blessing to teach in Fairfield, and I am truly grateful for that opportunity, and for the opportunity to serve the students in this school district,” Keller wrote. “I look forward to this next exciting phase of my life.”
Casey Cronk, FHS secretary, said she was resigning her position to pursue another opportunity.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of FHS,” she wrote. “I have enjoyed my work here and built some great relationships along the way.”
