A pair of Mt. Pleasant High School seniors ? Mikayla Brown and Madison Pullis ? received $500 scholarships from the Salem Crew Library Friends of the Library group. The pair worked on Saturdays during the school year, allowing the library to remain open on Saturday. Presenting the scholarships was Cathy Helman, president of the Friends of the Library. In the picture, from left, are Cathy Helman, Mikayla Brown and Keegan Pullis. Keegan Pullis accepted the scholarship on behalf of his sister, who had a prior commitment. The presentation was made at the Salem City Council meeting June 4.
