Reynolds holds last televised COVID-19 conference

Gov. Kim Reynolds said that Thursday's news conference would be her last televised conference as she will return to her 'normal schedule” next week.
Reynolds added that she will continue to hold a news conference each week as part of her schedule that will be streamed online through her social media platforms. She had been holding daily conferences throughout the pandemic until the end of May, where she decreased to a couple a week.
She said on Thursday via executive order, she would be establishing Iowa's Economic Recovery Advisory Board.
'Iowa's success has always been about turning obstacles into opportunities,” Reynolds said.
At the time of Thursday's news conference, there had been 24,737 total cases of COVID-19 across the state and 677 Iowans dead due to the virus according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Locally, a third person in Henry County has died to COVID-19 according to IDPH data. Henry County has had 75 total confirmed cases of COVID-19.
There have been 209 total confirmed cases in Washington County and 46 in Jefferson County.
Across the state, 239,598 Iowans have been tested which is equal to one out of every 13 Iowans being tested.
15,453 Iowans have been confirmed as recovered from the virus including 175 in Washington County, 28 in Jefferson County and 66 in Henry County.
In the RMCC Region 5, located in Southeast Iowa and containing Washington, Jefferson and Henry counties, there were 25 COVID-19 hospitalized patients at the time of Thursday's news conference according to IDPH. Twelve of those patients were in ICU and seven were on ventilators.
