Rich McNamee will run for sheriff
Henry County Deputy Sheriff Rich McNamee said he will be a candidate in the Republican Primary Election for Henry County Sheriff.
He said his platform includes conscientious fiscal budgeting, an aggressive and proactive approach to criminal and drug activity, improved relations with local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors, and increased patrols in rural areas and smaller communities.

Henry County Deputy Sheriff Rich McNamee said he will be a candidate in the Republican Primary Election for Henry County Sheriff.
He said his platform includes conscientious fiscal budgeting, an aggressive and proactive approach to criminal and drug activity, improved relations with local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors, and increased patrols in rural areas and smaller communities.
McNamee, a Maquoketa native, has been in Henry County law enforcement for 18-1/2 years. He began his career with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department in 1993.
While employed with the police department, he graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in 1993. He served with the police department until 1997 when he joined the county sheriff?s department. He also worked part-time for the New London Police Department from 2004-2007.
His past community service work includes serving on the Henry County Community Credit Union board, Salem Recreation board, First United Methodist Church Board of Trustees and he has also coached little league baseball teams.
McNamee attended Clinton Community College, majoring in criminal justice, following graduation from Maquoketa High School.
He and his wife, Carla, have four children and live northeast of Salem.
