Richard C. ?Dick? Augsburger, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Arbor Court, in Mt. Pleasant.
Visitation will be held from noon until 6 p.m., on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., that afternoon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, May 8, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Henry County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, of Burlington.

Augsburger was born on Aug. 2, 1934, in Burlington, the son of Chelsea Clifford and Beulah Berniece Brown Augsburger. He was a 1953 graduate of Burlington High School. On Nov. 27, 1954, he married Evelyn Kemper, in Wapello. She preceded him in death.Following high school, he joined the United States Army Reserves. He was called to active duty on March 19, 1956, and served during the Korean Conflict. Sgt. Augsburger was honorably discharged on Dec. 25, 1957. He continued his services as a member of the Reserves until Feb. 29, 1962.
He served on the Burlington Police Reserves. For 40 years, he worked for Iowa Southern Utilities Company, where he was an area manager at the time of his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, of Mt. Pleasant, Oak Street Baptist, First United Methodist, and West Hill Methodist Churches.
He enjoyed cars, Old Threshers and riding his motorcycle.
Augsburger is survived by his son, Scott (Lisa) Augsburger, of Mt. Pleasant; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; and his parents.
