Richland couple hospitalized after collision Tuesday

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. ? One person is in serious condition and another is in fair condition following a motor vehicle accident Tuesday evening on Highway 63 near Kirksville, Missouri.

According to the Kirksville Police Department, a pickup truck driven by Matthew Powell, 29, of Bethel, Missouri, was traveling southbound on Highway 63. While attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 6, he crashed into a vehicle headed southbound on Highway 63.

That vehicle was carrying two passengers, Jane Adrian, 67, and John Adrian, 69, both of Richland, Iowa, who were each injured during the accident.

They were taken to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Jane Adrian was listed in fair condition, while John Adrian was listed in serious condition as of Wednesday afternoon.

Kirksville police said traffic violation charges are pending against Powell.
