RICHLAND — The Richland Community Club is hosting a fireworks display in honor of Independence Day on Saturday, July 2.
The fireworks will be discharged at dusk at the city’s ball fields, but that is far from the only excitement of the evening. The community club has arranged for the band “Least Likely” to perform a set starting at 8 p.m. at the ball field. Richland’s Little League will begin selling concessions at the ball field at 6:30 p.m.
Jeannie Pedrick, a member of the Richland Community Club, said that the club normally just sticks to fireworks on July 4, but this year the club decided to make the day a bigger event.
“We don’t normally have entertainment or food,” said Pedrick, who explained that the club hoped to draw more people to the event by adding activities. “This is going to help out our Little League, which is raising money through their concessions. We don’t charge for anything else.”
Pedrick encourages the public to bring a lawn chair and enjoy a fun evening of food, music and fireworks.
