Mt. Pleasant Pink Friday- Nov. 21
This Friday, from 10AM to 7PM, shop with local businesses in downtown Mount Pleasant! In exchange for your patronage, expect exclusive deals, door prizes, and bright decorations!
Turkey Trot 5K- Nov. 27, 8AM
Registration for the Turkey Trot 5K race begins on Nov. 27 at 8AM, the race itself beginning at 9. Packets may be picked up from the Rec Center on the 26th, from 8AM to 7PM.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Kiwanis Club, to support their mission of serving the children of Henry County. The rest will benefit the programs and scholarships of the Rec Center!
Registration costs $25, but 12 and under may register for free.
Mt. Pleasant Festival of Lights, Nov. 22-23, 26- New Years
A beautiful drive-through display of Christmas Lights will be erected at the Old Threshers campground. With two miles of holiday beauty and 180 displays, and even Santa Claus in attendance, this event is not to miss.
On Nov. 22 and 23, the Festival begins, with the chance to walk the course for $5 per person. Children under 4 enter for free! You’ll also have the chance to visit the Log Village and ride the Midwest Electric Railway’s beautiful streetcars, but only on this weekend.
From the 26th to New Years, it will be all for the cars. Family vehicles enter for $10, limos for $25, mini coaches of up to 30 for $30, and motor coaches of up to 60 for $60.
Mt. Pleasant Holiday Parade- Dec. 4
It’s A Storybook Christmas in downtown Mt. Pleasant, as the holiday parade returns! The parade will commence at 5:15PM, and proceed down Main St. Afterward, Santa will be in his cottage for an hour!
North Pole Express- Dec. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21
On these dates, the Midwest Central Railroad will take passengers from Hillsboro Station all the way to the North Pole! For a $35 ticket, riders may meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus, the Elves, and the elusive Magical Snow Princess! While you’re there, visit the Christmas Craft Room, play with Santa’s toy trains, partake in sweet treats at the Cookie Coco Factory, and enjoy the holidays to their fullest. Kids 18 months and earlier enter free!
Mt. Pleasant Christmas Celebrations- Dec. 6
The City of Mt. Pleasant must really be feeling the holiday spirit! The Christmas celebrations of Dec. 6 sound beyond exciting.
The Jingle All-The-Way Kids Fun Run, along with the adult 5K and 5 Mile Run, will start at Max & Emily’s. Participants must register online before race day. Start times are 8:00, 8:25 and 8:30 a.m.
A pancake breakfast with Santa will take place from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children under ten, and children under four get in for free. Proceeds benefit the Sacred Heart Academy Athletic Association. Tickets are available at the door.
There will be a Children's Book Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Annex Meeting Room. All books will cost 25¢, and proceeds from the sale will support the library.
From 9:00 to 5:00, visit the Gingerbread House Photo Booth to take some festive photos. A tripod will be available, but bring your own phone or camera for this self-serve opportunity. The photo booth is also open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 12/5, and from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, 12/7.
Local performers will play holiday music in front of Max & Emily’s from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Make and Take Crafts at Art Reach and Cookie Decorating at Max & Emily’s will also take place at this time.
The Winter Market and Candy Cane Lane will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., featuring specialty crafts, food vendors and children’s games and activities. At Town Center, take a ride on the Christmas Train or watch live ice sculpting demonstrations by Ice Gurus.
Story time with Santa at Deliahs Childrens’ Boutique- Dec. 13
Shop for children’s clothes and let Santa read your little ones a story. Beginning 9:30AM on Dec. 13.
New London Holiday Stroll- Dec. 22. 5PM-8PM
On this date, New London celebrates the holiday season with a 5PM parade, music at the bandstand, free hot dogs and cocoa, and more! Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, visit the petting zoo, eat a caramel apple, and see what this small town has to offer!
