Riverside Casino & Golf Resort will welcome several members of the University of Iowa Women’s Basketball Team to a meet and greet on Friday, April 26 from 6–8 p.m.
“It’s an honor for us to host this impressive group of women whose hard work and dedication brought the Hawkeyes back to the National Championship Game,” Damon John, general manager of Riverside Casino & Golf Resort said. “It’s been a historic year for this program, and we are proud to partner with the Swarm and support these athletes. We are putting our company values into action when we can give back to our community and provide opportunities like these events for our guests.”
The Riverside event will be held in the Event Center. This is a free event for guests of all ages, and pictures are encouraged. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, autographs will not be offered. Athletes’ schedules may change, but currently we have commitments from the following athletes:
- Molly Davis
- Gabbie Marshall
- Hannah Stuelke
- Sharon Goodman
- Sydney Affolter
- Kylie Feuerbach
- Addi O’Grady
- Taylor McCabe
- AJ Ediger
- Jada Gyamfi
- Kennise Johnson
The partnership is facilitated by the Swarm Collective, a nonprofit created to support University of Iowa Athletics after the Supreme Court ruled the NCAA restrictions on student athlete compensation were illegal. Swarm will facilitate partnerships between our student-athletes, charities and non-profits, business owners, and the local community and compensate student athletes for their efforts. Swarm initiatives will be crucial to keeping Iowa Athletics competitive with other elite football and basketball programs. Competition in recruiting has risen to new levels after the supreme court decision.
Brad Heinrichs, CEO of the Swarm added, "As college athletics continues to evolve at a rapid pace with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), our mission at SWARM is to serve and raise funds for our local non-profits and charities through mission-driven engagement opportunities with our Iowa student-athletes. What excites us about our partnership with Elite Casino Resorts is it is a company that is owned and run by Iowans who already have a long history of serving local charities and understand the value of enhancing the community. The partnership with Elite Casinos Resorts is a great fit for us at SWARM and we look forward to expanding our charitable efforts of support across the state of Iowa."
The Swarm Collective will build relationships between student-athletes, business owners and charities, and the passionate alumni and fans of the University of Iowa. Student Athletes will help promote Elite’s charitable giving events throughout the year.
