Riverside celebrates TrekFest
RIVERSIDE — Swarms of sci-fi enthusiasts flocked to Riverside last weekend for TrekFest, the 39th iteration of the city’s annual festival celebrating its recently-canonical status as the future birthplace of the Star Trek’s Capt. James T. Kirk, the lead character of the franchise’s original series.
Terry Farrell was this year’s headliner guest, known to fans for her six-season stint in the main cast of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as Jadzia Dax, the chief science officer of the series’ titular space station.
The event lineup included meet-and-greets with Farrell and other names from the franchise, as well as a parade, cornhole tournament, costume contest and countless other activities.
