RIVERSIDE ? The Riverside City Council hired a deputy city clerk at its special session Thursday. Sladek will be paid $13.50 an hour and will start Monday.
The council voted 3-2 to hire Sladek. Councilors Kevin Kiene, Nate Kasdorf and Christine Kirkwood voted yes to the motion while Bob Schneider and Ralph Schnoebelen voted no. The council offered the job to Sladek and she accepted.
Leyden had been the deputy clerk for five years. City Clerk Missy Carter said she is excited to have another full-time clerk in the office.
