RIVERSIDE - The city of Riverside has received $24,288.43 in CARES Act funding.
City Administrator Christine Yancey said it could be two to three weeks before they receive the funding.
The city sent in its application on Sept. 15. Yancey said the state requested all cities who had expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic apply.
Yancey said the funding will cover the retaining wall and windows installed in City Hall, as well as the protective windows in the sheriff's department.
It will cover any personal protective gear expense and cleaning supplies.
'I was pleasantly surprised,” Yancey said. 'It is a great program.”
Yancey said the additional funding will go toward future expenses.
