Riverside propane tank leaks after crash

RIVERSIDE — A vehicle tumbled off the road and into a residential yard in western Riverside along Highway 22 around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to police records.

A Washington County call for service log said an “SUV type pickup missed the curve and rolled,” and that a “propane tank in the yard (was) leaking” but did not explicitly state whether that was caused by the accident.

The CFS log said one person was transported from the scene via AirCare, but did not say who or to where. The record added that charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain control against Leonard Rozmus, of Kalona, were pending DCI lab test results.

The county record said a state patrol officer would file an accident report from the crash, but it was not yet posted on the agency’s website as of 11 a.m. Monday.

The incident resulted in calls to Riverside and Kalona fire departments, as well as the Iowa DNR, according to the county CFS log.
