Riverside Road reopens to traffic

Riverside Road (W61) in Washington County is now open to all traffic.

The road had been closed since early July for a concrete overlay project between 190th Street (G26) and Spruce Avenue.

This project involved resurfacing and widening the existing pavement with six inches of Portland Cement Concrete and involved paving a portion of the shoulders.

Flynn Company Inc. of Dubuque was the contractor on the $3.5 million project.

for $3,540,988. SWAP construction dollars are being used to pay for this project. In addition, the paved shoulders are being paid for by a $500,000 Traffic Safety Improvement Program grant.

Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius said that the project created a significant improvement to the Riverside Road, ultimately making it safer and improving traffic flow.
