Riverside Woman indicted on federal child porn charges

RIVERSIDE – Abigail Knight, 35, of Riverside was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on May 24 for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

Following a tip from the Pearland Police Department in Texas and a subsequent search of Knight’s residence, investigators from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force located evidence that Knight was involved in the production and dissemination of child pornography.

On July 6, Knight was indicted in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa on 12 federal offenses including seven counts of Production of Child Pornography, two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Sexual Exploitation of a Child, two counts of Distribution of Child Pornography, and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.

Knight’s custody was transferred to federal authorities following the indictment.
