Road work to be on west end of old highway Tuesday
Norris Asphalt Paving of Ottumwa plans to begin the surface course of hot mix asphalt Tuesday, weather permitting.
Work will begin on West Burlington Avenue/Business 34 at Ninth Street and proceed west.
The Iowa Department of Transportation asks drivers to avoid using West Burlington Avenue/Business 34 in the area as much as possible.
The asphalt surface will need to cool completely before traffic can be allowed back

The asphalt surface will need to cool completely before traffic can be allowed back on it to assure the best driving surface possible.
Businesses will remain open and can be accessed by using alternate routes.
