Robert ?Bob? Evans Hamberg, 81, of Keosauqua, died on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center, surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Keosauqua United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mary Kathryn Hart and Larry Shipley officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery, in Keosauqua, with military honors by Beer-Barker Legion Post #113, American Legion, of Keosauqua.
Memorials to HCI Hospice or the Mildred Ferguson Sports Complex can be left at the funeral home or church, or mailed to the family at 203 Monroe Street, Keosauqua, Iowa 52565.
Hamberg was born on Jan. 25, 1935, the son of Carl and Olive Evans Hamberg, of Cantril. He graduated from Cantril High School. He married Barbara Jeanne Jack on Feb. 15, 1959, in Keosauqua. She preceded him in death. He had served in the United States Army.
He was a lifelong farmer, cattleman, and heavy equipment operator in southeast Iowa. He retired from Van Buren County Secondary Roads.
Hamberg is survived by his three children, Cecil (Colleen) Hamberg, of Keosauqua; Jacalyn ?Jackie? (Jeff) Luchsinger, of Arvada, Colo.; and Aaron (Joy) Hamberg, of Keosauqua; a grandson; 12 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Drake Henry, of Greeley, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Barbara.
