Rollover on Hwy 218 Saturday
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover collision on Highway 218 on Saturday, Aug. 4 at approximately 12:02 a.m.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover collision on Highway 218 on Saturday, Aug. 4 at approximately 12:02 a.m.
Matthew Schilling, of Washburn, was driving southbound on Highway 218 when he fell asleep at the wheel, drifting onto the inside shoulder. Schilling?s vehicle struck the guardrail just before the railroad bridge overpass at milemarker 42. The collision caused the vehicle to roll at least once, coming to a rest on its wheels.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
Schilling was charged with failure to maintain control and no current proof of insurance. Damage to Schilling?s 2001 White Chevrolet Monte Carlo was estimated at $5,000.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted by a Henry County Health Center ambulance and the Henry County Sheriff?s Office.
