Contractors and construction workers are replacing areas of the roof over the commons area and gymnasium at the Fairfield Middle School. The Fairfield Community School District Board of Directors accepted a bid from Advance Builders Corp. of Cedar Rapids, for $244,525 at the April 8 school board meeting. Auxiliary Services Director Fred McElwee recommended Advance Builders, noting they have completed several roof sections for the district in the past. The project was budgeted in the district?s infrastructure plan at $240,000.
