Ross runs sink Trojans

FORT MADISON - Fort Madison's Malarie Ross poured in 25 points including three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to take the Bloodhounds lead from six to 15 and Fairfield lost the Southeast Conference girls basketball game 57-31.
Fairfield was down 18-10 then held the home team scoreless for 4 minutes to trail 18-15 at halftime.
'I thought we had momentum going but would never get closer,” Fairfield head coach Pat Pacha said. 'We shot 28 percent from the field and those Ross 3's happened in about a minute, 30 seconds.”
Fairfield plays at Albia Monday then Tuesday is Senior Night versus Burlington. Fairfield's Danielle Breen had nine points and Delaney Breen five. Kelsey Pacha tallied five points and five rebounds with Hannah Simpson grabbing eight boards.
