Ruth E. Morse

Ruth E. Morse, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Arbor Court, in Mt. Pleasant.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Murphy Funeral Home, in Mt. Pleasant. According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded.

Morse was born on May 5, 1923, in Bloomfield, the daughter of Albert and Mary Francis Soran Morse. She she was raised in West Grove. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Emmett Hanley in 1943. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Morse is survived by her children, Betty Shamblin, of Mt. Pleasant; Mariette Irvin, of Ohio; and Mary Shamblin, of Oquawka, Ill.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Grace Davis, of West Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Emmett Lawrence Hanley; and her brothers and sisters.
