If you see any sample ballot implying how someone should mark their ballot when voting, it was not created by the auditor?s office. The auditor?s office must maintain a neutral position in all elections.
Barber?s remarks concern a public forum Aug. 26 in Mt. Pleasant, sponsored by the political-action committee (PAC) ?Our Kids-Our Future.? During the forum, sample ballots (with the auditor/commissioner of elections stamp affixed) were distributed, according to Barber. On the ballots, the name of a school-board candidate was checked as was ?yes? on the school bond referendum question.
