Sanitary sewers overflow
The almost 2.5 inches of rain that fell Monday and Tuesday on Fairfield resulted in about 794,003 gallons of sanitary sewer overflows to Crow Creek and Cedar Creek.
According to information from the Fairfield Wastewater Department, the largest overflow to Crow Creek was at a manhole in the Conger hayfield with 373,346 gallons overflowing. That amount combined with other overflows caused a total overflow to Crow Creek

The almost 2.5 inches of rain that fell Monday and Tuesday on Fairfield resulted in about 794,003 gallons of sanitary sewer overflows to Crow Creek and Cedar Creek.
According to information from the Fairfield Wastewater Department, the largest overflow to Crow Creek was at a manhole in the Conger hayfield with 373,346 gallons overflowing. That amount combined with other overflows caused a total overflow to Crow Creek of about 617,355 gallons.
About 126,011 gallons of sewer overflows went to Cedar Creek, and 50,637 gallons overflowed to Indian Creek, a tributary to Cedar Creek.
Fairfield Wastewater Superintendent Ellen Myers said wastewater staff has spread lime for disinfection in the areas where there is the potential for public access.
