Fairfield Community School District Board of Directors accepted the resignation of Pence Elementary School Principal Nathan Wear at the Monday night meeting at the high school.
Wear notified the board Feb. 28 of his intention to resign at the end of his 2010-11 contract.
He has been hired as Solon High School principal in Solon.
Board president Gail Miller expressed appreciation for Wear?s service to students, teachers, staff and parents during his six years as Pence principal.
?It will be a learning experience moving to a secondary school,? she told him.
?I won?t be getting as many hugs,? he replied.
The board did not discuss plans for finding a replacement.
Because Wear is leaving, the board also accepted the resignation of his wife Anne Wear, who teaches Spanish at Fairfield Middle School and Fairfield High School.
