School board to host candidates

The Fairfield Community School District Board of Directors will meet with candidates for the Iowa statehouse during its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15.

Fairfield schools superintendent Laurie Noll said it will be a good opportunity for the board to speak to the candidates about the importance of education. The board will meet at its regular meeting place in the Administration/Curriculum/Technology office.

The candidates that have agreed to come include those for Iowa House District 82, Democrat Phil Miller and Republican Jeff Shipley; candidates for Iowa Senate District 42, Democrat Rich Taylor; candidates for Iowa Senate District 41, Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Democrat Mary Stewart; candidates for Iowa House District 84, Democrat Jason Moats (and Republican Joe Mitchell has been invited).
