Semi carrying hogs crashed into tractor

KALONA - A crash on Highway 22 west of Kalona lead to pigs spilling out onto the highway.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office received a call at 3:49 p.m. on Monday of a wreck and dead hogs on the roadway.
A semi-truck carrying pigs crashed into the back of a tractor leading to dead hogs on the highway blocking traffic near Kiwi Avenue. The roadway was cleaned up and the animals were picked up by another truck.
The semi was being driven by Terry Deon Erb of Wellman and the tractor by David Wayne Shady of Maquoketa.
No person was injured and Erb was cited for passing too close to intersection and for an unsecured load.
