WASHINGTON - Corn and a rolled over semi blocked a portion of 220th Street on Friday.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the Washington Sheriff's Department received a report of a semi rolled over outside of Greiner Building.
The semi had run into piles of wood 2 x 4s and turned on its side, spilling corn all over the ditch and road.
After pulling the driver out of the vehicle and transporting him to the Washington County Hospital, firefighters started the work of clearing the road.
Around 15 firefighters used shovels and brooms to clear the road, eventually getting the help of a skid loader.
Witnesses said the driver of the hit the corner of a flat bed that was turning into Greiner Buildings.
Had the semi not hit the barrier of 2 x 4s, it would have slid into a gasoline storage tank.
The driver was cited with failure to yield half of roadway.
