MT. PLEASANT - A semi rollover on Highway 34 disrupted traffic in Henry County for several hours Thursday. No injuries related to the rollover were reported.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office received a call about the accident at 11:10 a.m. Sheriff Rich McNamee said the semi driver was heading east on the highway and lost control of the vehicle near Exit 229, the entrance to Westwood.
Due to the accident, traffic in the area had to be diverted.
McNamee said the driver, who was hauling meat, was swatting at a bee when he lost control of the vehicle. The driver then overcorrected and rolled over to the side of the road. The driver was the sole occupant of the truck and was not injured. McNamee added damage from the accident is probably 'a totaled out semi truck and tractor.”
Clean up for the accident was still underway as of Thursday afternoon.
