MT. PLEASANT - A semi truck sunk into a shoulder and disrupted traffic on Highway 34 early on Wednesday morning. No injuries related to the incident were reported.
Michael Kenneth Robison, 44, of Maquoketa was driving west on the highway along a construction zone when the semi went off the roadway, according to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
Due to softened ground from recent rain, the right tires of the semi truck and trailer sunk into the shoulder. The sheriff's office received a call about the incident at approximately 2:59 a.m. and lanes of traffic were closed for half an hour to remove the semi and trailer.
Neither the semi nor the trailer sustained any damage from the incident.
The sheriff's office was assisted by the Mt. Pleasant Police Department in directing and controlling traffic during the incident.
