Seventh, eighth graders take on Ottumwa
On Thursday, the Mt. Pleasant seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams took on Ottumwa in their final matches of the season.

On Thursday, the Mt. Pleasant seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams took on Ottumwa in their final matches of the season.
The eighth graders traveled to Ottumwa, where they split a pair of matches and lost a pair.
The ?A? team fell to Ottumwa in three sets. They lost the first game, 21-11, before coming back with a 21-18 win, but then they dropped the deciding game by a score of 15-13. They finished with a record of 3-6.
Bailey Johnson was 19-for-19 serving in the match. Leah Johnson was 10-for-10, and Sarah Moffett was six-for-six. Ryen Chrissinger went five-for-seven from the service line.
In the ?B? match, Mt. Pleasant split with Ottumwa, losing the first game, 21-8, and winning the second one, 21-19.
They finished the season with a record of 0-4-5.
Kirstin Smith went nine-for-10 serving. Kyle Sourwine was a perfect five-for-five, and Amiiee Keomanivong was three-for-three.
The Mt. Pleasant ?C? team played two close games but was swept by Ottumwa, 21-16 and 21-17, to end the season 0-5-4.
Emma Overton went 12-for-15 serving, Abby Ouankeo was six-for-six, and Betsy Bockting was three-for-four.
Finally, in the ?D? match, the Panthers split with Ottumwa, losing the first ste, 21-10, and winning the second, 21-14.
They ended the season 1-1-1.
Brooklyn Fraise went seven-for-10 serving against Ottumwa. Lauren Brousseau was six-for-seven, and Elizabeth Hull was five-for-six.

The ?A? team swept Ottumwa by scores of 21-7 and 21-18.
In serving, Pearl Krieger-Coble was 12-for-13 with six aces. Kaylnn Batey went 11-for-12 with four aces; Ashley Menke was a perfect eight-for-eight with another four aces; and Mikayla Beason was three-for-three with two aces.
In the ?B? match, the Panthers lost in two sets, both by a score of 21-18. Megan Sutherland was six-for-six serving with two aces to lead the team.
Katie Ensminger went five-for-five with one ace and Jordon Metheny was four-for-six with one ace.
Sidney Wilson served two aces and Ashley DeKraai had one ace.
The Mt. Pleasant ?C? and ?D? teams swept their matches against Ottuwma.
The C team won by scores of 22-20 and 21-19, and the D team won 22-20 and 21-14.
For the C team, Keri Herr went five-for-five serving with three aces. Nicole Schlatter was nine-for-12 with a team-high six aces. Bri Bowman was six-for-six with two aces, and Qian Qian Ye was four-for-five with two aces.
In the D match, Bea Fitten was 13-for-14 with 11 aces. Stacey Apodaca went 10-for-12 and added nine aces.
Genesis Carillo had four aces, Julia Pross and Autumn Morin each served two aces, and Samantha Alexander served one ace.
