Sharon L. Hendrickson, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Sharon L. Hendrickson, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Fulton Township Cemetery, in Moorland, where interment will occur. Rev. Edward Durand will officiate. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service at the Lion?s Den (the former Isaac Walton League), at 731 Exposition Drive, in Ft. Dodge. There will be no visitation at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, in Mt. Pleasant, which is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Hendrickson was born on July 9, 1939, in Ft. Dodge, the daughter of Virgil S. and Minnie J. (Johnson) Blunt. She graduated from Ft. Dodge High School in 1957. On Aug. 17, 1957, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Ft. Dodge, she married George Thomas Hendrickson. He preceded her in death.
She worked in the furniture store she and her husband owned. She later worked at J.C. Penney and Wal-Mart, both in Mt. Pleasant.
She enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and being with her family.
Hendrickson is survived by her six sons, Rod Hendrickson, of Grapevine, Texas; Jeff (Tracy) Hendrickson, of Urbandale; Phil (Dawn) Hendrickson, of Mt. Pleasant; Doug Hendrickson, of Grapevine, Texas; Marty (Shelly) Hendrickson, of Mt. Pleasant; and Mitch (Stacy) Hendrickson, of Pass Christian, Miss.; a brother, Jack Blunt, of Ft. Dodge; two sisters, Virgie Fey, of Humboldt; and Barbara Kutz, of Twin Lakes; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and seven brothers and sisters.
