The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday near 1800 Highway 34. A 2003 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Aaron Dean Bailey of Ottumwa was westbound when it struck a deer. Estimated damages are $5,000 to the vehicle.

Julie Ann Horton, 44, of Lockridge was arrested at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday at her residence for simple domestic abuse assault.

Brock Lawrence Wierck, 28, of Pleasant Plain was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Tuesday at 1200 W. Grimes Ave. for failure to appear.

A theft was reported Tuesday at 3345 260th St., Lockridge. A pickup bed trailer, estimated $1,500 value; the handle to a livestock trailer, estimated $100 value; and two wheels, estimated $800 value, were stolen.
