Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office cited Colton Smith of Fairfield at 4:01 a.m. Sunday for failure to maintain control. Smith was driving north on Juniper Avenue, said he fell asleep and ended in the west ditch and crashed into a driveway at 2558 Juniper Ave., causing some damage.

Amy Jane Apalara, 19, of Lockridge, lost control around 4:58 p.m. Saturday due to potholes and standing water while driving a 1998 Ford Mustang east on 218th Boulevard, a quarter-mile west of Henry/Jefferson County Road. She ran off the left side of the road, struck a ditch embankment, which deployed the airbags. The car had an estimated $3,000 in damages.
The sheriff?s office reports a deer/vehicle accident at 8:06 p.m. Saturday on Pleasant Plain Road, a half-mile south of 116th Street. Driver was traveling north in a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer on Pleasant Plain. The vehicle had an estimated $1,500 in damages.
The sheriff?s office received a report at 7 a.m. Friday from Dew Drop Inn in Libertyville that it had been broken into sometime between 9 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday. It showed a forced entry. Two gaming machines were damaged, as well as the jukebox and money was taken.
A resident reported at 8:11 p.m. March 25, a burglary/breaking and entering sometime between 9 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. that day. Valuables worth $57 were taken.
