Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office arrested Sergio Hernandez Palmeros, 46, of Ottumwa, at 10:07 p.m. Thursday at mile marker 214, Fairfield on Highway 34. Palmeros is charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense, failure to have a valid license or permit to operate a motor vehicle and driving on wrong side of a two-way highway.

Palmeros is charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense, failure to have a valid license or permit to operate a motor vehicle and driving on wrong side of a two-way highway.
The sheriff?s office reports a vehicle/deer accident at 7:55 p.m. Thursday on business Highway 34, a half-mile east of Highway 34/163. A 2005 Volkswagon Beetle was driving west on business 34 and struck a deer in the road.
