The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office arrested Lance Owen Meyer, 41, of Ottumwa at 10:29 p.m. Monday on Highway 34 for driving while barred.

The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office arrested Lance Owen Meyer, 41, of Ottumwa at 10:29 p.m. Monday on Highway 34 for driving while barred.
The sheriff?s office responded to an accident at 6:17 a.m. Monday on Salina Road. According to the accident report, a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by David Allen Moran, 2405 Salina Road, was eastbound when it left the roadway and entered the south ditch. Moran struck a mailbox and continued across a driveway and yard and came to rest several yards into a cornfield. Moran was cited for no proof of insurance. Estimated damages are $1,500 to the vehicle.
