Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday. Madison Kate Lathrop of Richland, driving a 1994 Toyota Camry, was pulling out from the south drive on Birch Avenue at Pekin school. Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday. Madison Kate Lathrop of Richland, driving a 1994 Toyota Camry, was pulling out from the south drive on Birch Avenue at Pekin school. She stated she looked left and right, waited for a northbound vehicle to pass, then she pulled onto Birch Avenue and collided with a 1992 Buick LeSabre driven by Ligeia Rose Ervin of Packwood. Both drivers were transported by Midwest Ambulance to Jefferson County Health Center. The Camry has an estimated $1,500 in damages; the Buick, $1,000. Lathrop was cited for failure to yield to a through highway.
