Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to a report at 12:53 a.m. today of two cows hit by a semi-truck at 3300 Highway 34 by Lockridge. Dan Parker Jr. of Florissant, Mo., driving a 2011 International owned by Estes Express Lines of Morrisville, N.C., was driving westbound on Highway 34 when he struck a calf owned by Stephen Burgmeier of Lockridge in the roadway. Sheriffs received a call about three dead cows and a calf in the median. The sheriff?s report said Parker was able to continue driving after checking his truck.
At 12:55 a.m. today sheriffs had a report of another accident; Darrin Boyd Williams, 43 of Maxwell, driving a Freightliner owned by Birchmier Trucking of Maxwell, was traveling westbound on Highway 34 by Lockridge when he struck a cow owned by Stephen Burgmeier on the roadway. Estimated damage to the Freightliner was reported $15,000; estimated value of the cow, $1,200.
Also at 12:55 a.m. today, there was a third accident on Highway 34 at Lockridge. Charlie Carnile Davis Jr., 46 of High Point, N.C., driving a Peterbuilt owned by ICS Logistics Corp of Altoona, hit a cow owned by Stephen Burgmeier in the roadway. Estimated damage to the Peterbuilt was reported $15,000; estimated value of the cow, $1,200.
Kelsey Lynn Hayne of 1760 Shooting Star Ave., was cited for failure to yield after an accident at 2:05 p.m. Thursday. Hayne, driving a 1998 Toyota Camry, was traveling north on Highway 1 and turned left at Airport Road, in front of Marci Tanner Freeman of 1110 S. Second St., driving a 1996 Toyota Camry south on Highway 1. Freeman collided with the rear end of Hayne?s vehicle. Estimated damage to Hayne?s vehicle was $2,000; and $3,000 to Freeman?s vehicle.
Sheriffs investigated a report of theft of prescription drugs/narcotics bottle valued at $100 from a motor vehicle in Brighton at 8:29 p.m. Thursday. The theft is reported to have occurred between 7-8 p.m. Thursday.
Sheriffs investigated a burglary/attempted breaking and entering a window and destruction/damage/vandalism at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 2143 32nd St. at 8:56 p.m. Thursday. Damage to the window is estimated at $400. The incident is reported to have occurred between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
