The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 1:23 a.m. Wednesday on Pleasant Plain Road. A 2004 Chevy Malibu driven by Sean Lee McConnell of Brighton was northbound when it struck a deer. Estimated damages are $2,500 to the vehicle.

The sheriff?s office responded to an accident at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Fourth Street and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks. According to the accident report, Betty Lou Williams of Libertyville was northbound in a 2000 Buick Century when she thought workers on a westbound railroad maintenance machine were waving her through. The workers were waving her to stop, and the vehicles collided. Estimated damages are $1,500 to Williams? vehicle and $200 to the railroad vehicle driven by Keith A. Antholz of Lincoln, Neb.

The sheriff?s office responded to an accident at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 34. A 2010 Mazda driven by Sherry Louise Eastburn of Monticello was westbound when it struck a dog. Estimated damages to the vehicle are $3,500.

Sergio Ricardo Stewart, 19, of Libertyville was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday at 400 Fourth St. for a probation violation.
