Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports the following:
Friday
5:20 a.m. - A 2009 Mazda MZ6 driven by Brenda Kay Sammons, 50, of Mt. Pleasant, was westbound on Highway 34 when it struck a deer in the roadway near Tamarack Avenue. Damage was estimated at $4,000.
Saturday
10:21 p.m. - Sheriff's deputies investigated driving under influence - OWI at 255th and Dewberry. At 12:41 a.m., Seth Alexander Haney, 23, of Batavia, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated-first offense.
